why SVdP

Please help us make a difference and create awareness when providing assistance to all of our neighbors in need. More than 20% of the people in Miami-Dade live below the poverty line. This is almost 3M people and way above the national average of 14%. Let’s spark the light of caring in all our South Florida residents and your family members

TELL IT LIKE IT IS

Only in South Florida last year we had 1,000+ members serving the poor and needy; we helped more than 200,000 families; our volunteers embarked in more than 22,000 visits, calls and contacts (exclusive of the food bank contacts); we collectively provided more than $8M of financial support, goods, and services to our community; our members volunteered more than 150,000 hours of generous work and Vincentians drove the equivalent of 6 3/4 times around the world (169,160 miles) to serve the needy. We need your help to keep accomplishing more!

SUSTAINABLE VALUE

In average, SVdP gives back to the community more than 98% of the resources it collects. For more than 170 years, SVdP has been tirelessly working within our communities in the US providing assistance to those in need. Our unique approach: SVdP volunteers directly visit our brothers and sisters in need at their homes or shelters to get a first-hand insight into their requirements and particular situation

Focus On Results

SVdP helps those in need, regardless of their creed, ethnicity, personal circumstances, background, faith and beliefs. We channel the work of voluntary and lay people, men and women, to all those that need help at a particular point in their lives. Each SVdP Conference is focused on helping the needs of people within their immediate community
